Message summary: ...accumulating snow likely saturday night and sunday...
Snow is likely to overspread the region saturday evening and continue into sunday...likely depositing at least several inches of snow across much of the region. Low pressure is forecast to organize over colorado saturday and then track east into the ohio river valley by sunday...producing a large swath of accumulating snow across the midwest. The storm system is originating from a complex series of upper level disturbances that have yet to fully evolve...meaning it is quite possible that later forecasts could change. Current indications are that much of northern and central illinois and indiana will see 3 to 6 inches of snow...with locally heavier totals possible. The snow will fall over an extended period of time likely affecting travel saturday night through sunday evening. Persons planning travel this weekend should closely monitor later forecast and statement on this developing winter storm.
